Officially On Maternity Leave

I AM OFFICIALLY ON MATERNITY LEAVE

My maternity leave supposedly starts on November 16. I will have a week’s winter break on November 9 giving me 6 weeks of work free before my due date. Then something else came up. I mentioned in this post that I had three weeks of sick leave due to cramps and contractions.

SICK LEAVE CONTINUES

I am supposed to go back to work this week. Last five days of work before my holiday starts. I was planning and eager to try my best to go back to work. After all, it’s only five days and I probably will survive. Although I must admit that I was scared and worried I will have a lot of pain and have hip pain and cannot walk. Everyone was telling me to continue my sick leave. Continue resting and not to go back to work anymore. And that I need to think about the safety of my baby and me. I could not agree more. My first child was born at 35 weeks and I could not risk this pregnancy at all.

So today, I decided to go see a doctor and ask for one more week of sick leave. The doctor didn’t even check my cervix, she just told me if I will have bleeding or my water breaks I need to call and go to the hospital right away. She told me to rest and be careful. Also hoping that the baby will stay until the due date.

STAYING HOME FOR A YEAR

I continue on sick leave which means I have 4 weeks of sick leave. My plan was to work and start my maternity leave 5 weeks before my due date. It’s hard to believe that I now actually have work-free 10 weeks before my due date. I am grateful that I get paid even though I am staying home. So, officially I am now on my maternity leave. I am now in my 33 weeks of pregnancy. Tomorrow I have an appointment and will see a doctor and ultrasound on my 36 weeks.

So, I will be staying home for about 10- 12 months. I am already thinking about how bored I will get hahaha. But I know I will be very busy with the baby. I am already planning to walk with the baby every day. We will bring Rianna to school and pick up her up as well. It will be a good daily exercise for me. I will also write blogs and take photos, so I am sure I won’t be that bored. I will enjoy staying home with my baby.
