Pregnancy Update / Week 14- 17

PREGNANCY MONTH FOUR

Here’s another weekly pregnancy update. This is my fourth month of pregnancy. Finally, we are entering the second trimester. I am waiting for this month to feel better and for the morning sickness to go away and just be a memory. Sharing my feelings and pregnancy symptoms. Pregnancy month four so far is amazing. I am feeling back to myself again and I can eat whatever I want now. No more sickness and food aversion.

WEEK 14- 17 PREGNANCY UPDATES

14 WEEKS OF PREGNANCY UPDATE

June 25- July 1

Here comes another weekly pregnancy update. I am now in my 14th week. So happy and exciting! We had our 14 weeks appointment with the nurse on June 24th. Everything went well. We heard baby’s heartbeat and it was the most amazing sound ever. We have asked quite a few questions like how do we feel about the pregnancy. Are we ready for all that comes along? How’s our relationship going. Our future plans with the baby and many more. I weighed 49,6. I am 200 grams heavier now than the beginning of pregnancy. Although my weight changes in the morning and after I have eaten. So far I feel a little bit better this week.

This week I have a summer holiday. I really wanted to rest and enjoy my holiday but it is also a moving date for us. If you’re following us on Instagram I mentioned that we moved to a bigger apartment at the end of this month. Our family is growing so we needed space to accommodate us all. We spent every day this week moving stuff from the old apartment to the new one. I organized/arranged things while Meu picked and gathered all the things. It has been a busy week and I am really tired.

HOW I FEEL AND PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS

Now that I am on my 14th week. Finally, in the second trimester, I felt so relieved. I have been waiting for this week to come. First, because I know and believe that by this week, my morning sicknesses should be gone for good. I will feel better and healthy again. I can eat again whatever I desire to. And honestly, I feel a little better now. I don’t vomit anymore. I don’t have nausea anymore. Although sometimes I still feel a little bit sick especially during the evening. But it is a lot better than the previous weeks.

Sleeping is getting harder now. Thankfully I have my pregnancy pillow which helped me sleep better. Only that it is really hard to sleep on the left side as I always prefer to sleep on my right or tummy. However, I am trying my best to sleep on my left side.

It feels like days and weeks had gone by so fast now. Cannot even believe I am now four months pregnant. It feels amazing and I am really happy everything is good here. My bump starts growing and I feel like a am so big now.  I really hope that I will not gain so much weight and that my sugar is under control. I had pregnancy diabetes on my first pregnancy and now I am required to have tests.  So, I really need to watch the food what I am eating. I need to eat everything healthy and what is good for me and the baby.

15 WEEKS OF PREGNANCY UPDATE

July 2-8

At 15 weeks, I can finally say that I feel a lot better compared to the previous weeks. I don’t feel sick anymore especially in the evening. However, there are times when I have heartburn but again I can control it this time. I don’t have nausea and vomiting anymore. My appetite is back and I can eat now whatever I want. Of course, I am trying to eat healthy as well. I am eating again avocados which I don’t like to eat the past few months. My cravings though has always been mangoes. I love eating the ripe ones.

As to my belly, sometimes it looks big and sometimes it looks like I am just bloated. I’ve seen 15 weeks bump photos online and mostly I saw they have already a big bump. I have also comments at work that I don’t look pregnant at all. I haven’t gained that much weight either. I think I weight a half kilo more if I have just eaten. In the morning, with an empty tummy, my weight is still the same as my pre-pregnancy weight sometimes even less. Back in January, I was 54kg and I’ve tried to lose a few kilos until I have 49,40 when I got pregnant. So I was even bigger and heavier a few months ago.

HOW I FEEL AND SYMPTOMS

This week I am starting to use bio-oil to avoid stretch marks. I don’t have stretch marks on my belly on my last pregnancy, although I do have in my hips and butt. I am afraid to get stretch marks so I really need to make it a habit to put lotion or oil all the time. I also need to buy a belly band soon. For me, it helps a lot from protecting my belly.

Now that I am morning sickness free, I started to enjoy this pregnancy. Touching my belly and looking at it in the mirror whenever I have a chance. I also enjoy the summer now. I don’t feel scared to go out of the house anymore. Also, I feel a lot better at work. However, I know that I have to be extra careful and minimize lifting. I feel energetic now and don’t feel tired at work anymore. I think it is also because of my prenatal vitamins. I feel good and energetic. I also sleep well now. Thanks to my comfy pregnancy pillow.

I bought a few neutral color newborn baby clothes a few days ago. And I wish I know the gender already so it is much easier to go shopping. I am looking forward to knowing the baby’s gender in August. Then, we can start buying baby’s needs and more clothes. We are very excited for this baby to come. Yanna is asking me everyday when is December and whether the baby is a boy or a girl.

16 WEEKS OF PREGNANCY UPDATE

July 9-15

On tuesday, July 9th, I had a sugar glucose test. It was so bad that after an hour I vomited all the water that I drank an hour ago. In the evening that day, we flew to Budapest Hungary and the beginning of our two weeks holiday. The last trip we had was in December- January. Now finally visiting another country again.

There were little hiccups during the trip but I tried to be fine. Traveling can be stressful. Some days I feel so hungry for not eating on time. I feel tired and I even had to lift the luggage in between flights. But all these I survived and I am perfectly fine.

My belly has its own drama this week. I should say. It looks like a have a real bump when I am wearing a fitting dress. But if I am wearing other clothes like shorts or skirts you could hardly notice I am pregnant at all. Even when I am wearing a bikini my stomach is not obvious yet. Quite funny I know. Example in the photos it looks like I have a baby bump but because this is due to the leggings I’m wearing. But if I am wearing something else it’s not visible the bump at all.

HOW I FEEL AND PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS

I noticed that in this week I don’t have any more bad taste in the mouth. No more nausea, vomiting, and heartburn. I am totally back to myself and I am feeling normal. During the trips, I ate a lot. We had breakfast included in our Budapest trip and breakfast as well as dinner included in our Cyprus accommodation. So I have been eating a lot. And the belly is big when it’s full. I would say it started to grow and show a little bit more. But then it also depends on what I am wearing as I mentioned above. I am so happy we’re having a trip this week. I would at 16 weeks pregnant, 4 months of pregnancy is the best time to travel. No more morning sickness and the bump is not so big yet.

I have enjoyed swimming, enjoying the sun on the beach. I even took a nap on the beach. It was nice to just relax enjoy the hot weather and worry nothing. Time goes fast and I know soon this holiday will be over. But as I am writing this (July 15), we still have another one week to enjoy this summer holiday. And then we will be back in Finland. Therefore, I will try to enjoy more, relax, rest and have fun on this trip. We are in Ayia Napa, Cyprus and staying at Pavlo Napa Beach Hotel. It has a swimming pool here and owns the beach. So perfect for a family holiday.

17 WEEKS OF PREGNANCY UPDATE

July 16-22

Another weekly pregnancy update. This week is our second week of the summer holiday. We traveled to Platres on tuesday, July 16th. We left the nice white sand beach and hot Ayia Napa and left for the mountainside of Cyprus- Platres. But before we left we took first some bikini photos early morning on the beach. I looked like a not pregnant lady on these photos and I don’t know why. It was morning and my belly was so small. My belly is naturally small in the mornings before breakfast.

It is really nice here in Platres. So quiet and peacefull. It feels like we are on retreat. We came here to visit my friend. We cannot sleep at her place so we booked a hotel but she’s making food for us, so we eat lunch and dinner at her place. We are eating a home cook meal. Sometimes we go out to eat. We have visited a few places nearby and eveything was good. I survived walking and climbing the hill. I am really enjoying this vacation and I wish we could stay longer. Soon I will be back to work and I will be busy again.

HOW I FEEL AND PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS

I felt sick on the first two days we arrived in Platres. I had morning sickness and a bad taste in the mouth. I had headaches as well. It makes me feel sad and worried. Last week I was a lot better and I thought the morning sickness is over. I think it’s because it is cold here and it made me sick just like back home? Thankfully I felt better days after and the rest of the holiday went well.

I don’t know how much my weight now. But I noticed that after I showed my little belly online it starts growing and now it is actually big. I know, in a matter of days but I guess it is also because I am bloated and constipated. On July 19th, we took maternity photos and because it is too early for maternity photoshoot I tried my best to show my belly for it to look big. My photographer friend encouraged me to take bump photos and I could not say no to her. I am very happy though because the photos turned out great. I am eating well during our summer holiday and I sometimes drinking cola which I know I shouldn’t. I am just eating normal and didn’t eat that much. I don’t have cravings or food aversion anymore. I eat whatever I want.
