OUR LAYOVER IN MUNICH, GERMANY
We had about 3 hours layover in Munich, Germany on our flights back home. I do wish we have more time than 3 hours so we could explore Munich. We were very tired at that time and although we wish to stay longer we also wish to arrive home quickly so we could rest.
Coming back home our first flight (Larnaca to Athens) with Aegean airlines was delayed so we missed our connecting flights to Helsinki. They gave us another flight but not straight to Helsinki. It was flights from Athens- Munich- Helsinki. It was not very nice to wait for another flight when we could have arrived already on our final destination. But things happened and we just have to think that some things happen unexpectedly.
We’d love to stay in Munich for at least a day to explore the city but we were very tired and no clothes as we check in all our hand-carry luggage. We even consider to change our flights again, booked a hotel in Munich and fly back home the following day. But I guess we were very tired and wanted to be home quick. So, yeah we just took photos at the airport proving that we were in Munich hahaha. One day we will do our long European trip again just like we did last year.
DELAYED FLIGHTS
I was very tired. I know we will miss our connecting flights because we only had 40 minutes interval time. But we were delayed for half an hour on the first flight so pretty sure we won’t make it to the next flight. However, we did try our best. We ran fast as we could. Unfortunately, we still have to pass the border control which that time has a very long line, and then had to pass the security control as well. I was pregnant and we were running fast as we could. When we arrived at our gate, the plane just left. It was my first experience and I promised not to take the same flights again. It is frustrating.
We had to find the Aegean Airlines office and asked what we should do. They gave us another flight but a long one with a layover to Munich Germany. We had no choice but to wait for the next flight. I was very tired and hungry. You know, I am pregnant and I should not encounter this kind of problem. Somehow, we managed and I tried to be patient with the situation. It’s no one’s fault. We arrived in Munich. Had dinner in the airport and patiently waited for our flights to back to Helsinki. We arrived in Helsinki at midnight and happy to be home safe.
