A VISIT TO THE CORVIN CASTLE (HUNYADI CASTLE) IN TRANSYLVANIA

I remember one morning, we all sat down having breakfast on our last morning in the hotel we’re staying at for two nights. We were talking about what to do on that day and where to go next. Our plan was to go to Botosani, as the road trip was over and we all go home and rest, and for me to finally visit my bf’s hometown. I was searching in google some interesting places to visit in Romania and found a beautiful photo of Corvin castle.

I asked my Romanian friends if they know where it is located, none of them knows where. So I thought, never mind. No need to visit all the places if we cannot. We finished our breakfast, went back to our rooms to take our bags, checked out and start the road trip to Botosani, well so as I thought.

We drove, past places, towns and after towns, until we arrived at somewhere I had no idea where. We stopped beside the road and bf said, “remember this place? You were checking this morning. We came to surprise you. I know you really wanted to come here., happy?” I was surprised and couldn’t believe we arrived at Corvin castle. It’s more beautiful in reality than in the photos I saw earlier. We went out of the car and I started taking photos. Then, I heard someone saying, wait, of course, we have to go inside, see what’s in there. Oh, I thought we only stopped by to take photos. :)

The Hunedoara Castle

So we went there. The castle looks so big outside, and I was really confused about what’s inside. After we found the entrance gate, we paid the entrance fee and started exploring around. We tried to check each room, each corner. It was beautiful inside. Corvin Castle is the oldest castle I have ever been visited. I am very happy that we visit this castle. It’s made purely of solid rocks, still has some things that are made of metals and it’s a huge castle.

It has a church inside, a prison, a knights hall, etc. There was a scary room there, and I really hate why I went inside because I had a nightmare after that. We spent over an hour in Corvin castle and managed to check everything. It was lovely inside. The view from the top of the castle was spectacular. This castle is located so near to the city. You can see the perfect view of the city from the top of the castle.

The best thing about visiting castles is that you’ll learn more about the history of that place and you’ll get interested in what kind of life people have a hundred years ago. I’ve visited a few castles in Romania including the Bran castle, Peles castle, etc before we visited the Corvin castle. Corvin Castle is one of the oldest and is a bit more interesting to me.
