SUMMER WEEKEND IN KOTKA
Kotka is a beautiful city. I haven’t really explored this city until this weekend. I remember I have been to the harbor before and I really liked it there. It was one summer a few years ago. I was back in 2017 when I had a school entrance exam, and though I got in school, I realized Kotka is too far for me to travel every day. It was winter when I took the exam and didn’t have a chance to tour around. The third visit was when we visited our friend and we didn’t really explore the city either but I already can say that Kotka is a lot nicer than Loviisa and of course more accessible. It has big shops, a swimming hall, etc. This weekend we visited Kotka again and we had a great time.
We had a barbecue party at the Katariina park on Saturday with friends. It was my first time to visit Katariina park and didn’t know that this park is quite huge. The place we had barbecue was really nice. It’s near the ocean, has playground for kids, some cherry trees. It was so windy though, it was sunny but I felt cold because of the wind. We had so much fun and was nice to visit the park and had fun moments with my friends.
On Sunday we explored more and visited this another attraction there. The Kotka Urban National Park. Another big and beautiful park. There was a waterfall. It was nice. I don’t know if its real or manmade :). But it was nice. We took a lot of photos during us after the walk. We went to the harbor and saw lots of nice boats, dreaming to have one someday. :) It was a perfect sunny day. So hot actually. I’m hoping to be back again in Kotka and explore the city more. Last weekend was lovely. Looking forward to exploring cities and towns of Finland one at a time. Have you been to Kotka before?
