Hanami Festival 2018
This is my first time to attend the Roihuvuoren Hanami festival in Helsinki. I always wonder what this festival is about. We did not make it last year, so this year I cleared up my calendar and scheduled this specific weekend to attend this festival as well as to visit my friends in Helsinki at the same weekend. It was a lovely day, very warm and has a lot of people there. There was a program and we watched it. It was a perfect place and time for camping. Everyone was sitting on the ground with their picnic foods and blanket. Unfortunately, we did not bring anything with us, not even water. I could say that we were not so prepared for this event.
We have never planned to have a picnic here, but it would have been perfect if we bring some snacks with us and a blanket to sit down. However, we’re pleased just sitting on the ground watching the program and enjoyed the sun.
We walked around the park. Letting Yanna play in one of the playgrounds there. We checked some blooming trees where we could take photos and we found the spot we were last year and took some photos from there. There are a few blooming trees. We stayed a few hours waiting for our friend to come, and then we went to the Kamppi to have some lunch. After which we took a train to Vanta and went to my friend’s house. We spent the whole weekend there, eating lots of foods. watching movies, endless chitchat and we had a great time. It was a lovely weekend!
Kirsikkapuisto
This is a manmade park full of cherry blossom trees that were planted a few years ago. I have seen photos of this park when the trees are in full bloom and it looks really beautiful. I haven’t been here though during the full bloom days which kind of sad because I really want to witness it and of course take a lot of photos. We always came late. Hopefully next year we can do it! There are newly planted trees now and I assume next year it will be more beautiful.
Have you been to Hanami Festival last weekend?
Here is the posts from last year- Kirsikkapuisto.
