Cherry Blossom Season

THE CHERRY BLOSSOM

Unfortunately, we missed the cherry blossom again this year in Helsinki. It was in full bloom a week before our planned trip to Helsinki. We’ve visited the Kirsikka puisto last year even though it was late, we managed to take a few photos. This year is worst because there are no more blooms, well, except the white ones and those newly planted trees (i will share more photos on the next post). We should’ve have come a week before but we were so busy and didn’t have time. Anyway, there is always next year. Luckily for us, there were trees near my friend’s apartment which were in full bloom, and we thought, why not take photos from here? And so we did, took only a few minutes and we had these photos. Better than nothing, I guess.

Moreover, we had a lovely weekend at my friend’s place in Helsinki. It was very nice to meet with my friends again, endless chitchats, food trips, movies, etc. I wish we were neighbors though so it is easy to visit each other anytime we want. But the good thing about being far is that we miss each other and we long to see each other. So you know, it’s a good thing.

We are wearing light clothes now, as the weather is so warm. It’s May but it feels like we have already summer here, which is really good. If we compare last year, during this time we were still wearing light jackets and still chilly, but now no jacket needed except in the morning which is still a little bit cold. But during the day the sun is really hot and the air is so dry.

I just realized that Rianna’s swollen eyes were due to allergies to pollen. She also has these allergies last year, I can remember and I thought that she got the allergy/sickness from other people as we traveled that time. I did not realize until recently that she also has allergies to pollen. Right now she has a cough and colds and actually makes me worried about getting the bad flu again. Hopefully not! But her eyes look very tired though, and she looks like she is sick. Hopefully, this will go away soon!
