Those Moments When…
Hauskaa Vappua to all my friends in Finland! I hope everyone is having fun with their friends and family today as you celebrate “May Day” (labor’s day). And no, I am not in a party or doing something with my friends. I am just home doing nothing, as we say. Okay, with my daughter and just spending some quality time with her. And right now as she was napping, I just enjoy the quietest place I could find. I am not a party type of person, though I do want to have fun with friends sometimes. But anyway, that’s how life goes here!
April came by so quickly! I think I didn’t notice it too much because I was having fun everyday. And I don’t think so much about school stuffs, instead what I did was too much relaxing that I didn’t even bother to read my books. I think I was being so carefree this past month. Although, there were so many unforgettable things that I couldn’t even believed had happened. There were movie nights with hubby where we watched Furious 7 together. It was fun. We don’t always have a date with just the two of us, so things like that is special. We also ride Harley for the first time this year. The weather has finally getting warmer here. Spring has came!
There were quite a few roller coaster emotional rides here. But life is always like that and I am used to it. I am trying not to get upset easily and not being moody. I don’t want to get old fast. So yeah, just ignore those annoying things around me and just try to enjoy life instead.
School is also fine. Trying to learn the Finnish language everyday. I can speak and understand Finnish now. Not that fluent of course, but proud to say that there is an improvement. Anyway, lately, we have talked about how difficult the “speaking in Finnish” than in writing. When speaking they do it in shortcuts. They shorten the words and sometimes it’s even harder to understand than the confusing grammar in writing. I listen into it everyday when hubby is speaking with our kids. Of course I understand whatever he was trying to say. However, when you read them on paper you would surprise how confusing it could be. I couldn’t believe. How can expats survived in Finland? I mean, it depends to a person, of course! Some they speak fluently already. And I am still like just arrived here for a month or two. Poor me!!!!
Anyway, May is here which means it’s one month more until summer. Who else is excited to spend outside and just enjoy the sun? I hope it’s not only me! Spring is beautiful here in Finland. I am looking forward for the cherry blossoms and apple blossoms. Our backyard is so pretty when the plants starts growing especially those yellow flowers and apple tress in full bloom like this one. I would love to explore more and appreciate how beautiful this country is.
Yesterday we went to Järvenpää with my class for a class field trip (retkipäivä). It was my first time to visit there so i brought camera with me and captured the moments. We visited one school there and visited museum and other historical places. It was quite fun actually. It wasn’t that far and the bus ride was okay. I am going to blog about it soon along with some photos i took from there.
So yeah, that’s what my April goes here. Nothing fancy happened, but was a great month indeed. I am so ready to explore May and accept whatever challenges may come. Life is great, by the way! May you have a great one too! Happy Labor Day friends!
