52 Moments / 25- Afternoon On The Seaside

Afternoon On The Seaside

On Saturday afternoon there was a big event happening in the city, “The Rose Wedding In Loviisa”. It happened every summer as far as I remember. We did not watch the real wedding at the church, but we did watch the first dance which was held at Salttis. The weather cooperated with the event. That day was sunny and very warm. Finally, we experienced the hot summer here. We had rainy days the past few weeks and we only had hot sunshine since July started. So hurray for that! The first dance took only a few minutes. After the newlywed had their first dance they walked hand in hand to their limo waiting for them. The crowd had scattered. Some went home, some remain and enjoyed their company and the weather at the beach.

I asked hubby if a baby girl and I can stay for a while and stroll the beach, while he is hurrying home to catch the FIFA games. He went home. Rianna and I went to the harbour and as usual, threw stones into the water. Rianna loved this activity so much, and she doesn’t want to stop doing it. We collected rocks and bring them and then throw them one by one. Rianna enjoyed watching the little stones vanished in the water.

We sat down at the seashore. I watched other people passes by. I watched people come in and out of their boat, and then something crossed my mind, how nice if we have our own boat that we ride every summer and visit different places and lakes. How nice to have sailed on the boat with your family and then stop somewhere for some fishing. And then, I saw an old couple riding a canoe and they looked really happy together. I remember us, hubby and I. I imagined us riding a canoe together and sail on the sea, only the two of us. How wonderful it could be. I have ridden any kinds of the boat since childhood but never been on a canoe. Riding a canoe would be so much fun, I supposed!

I took several photos and videos of Rianna playing. Took photos of the boats, sky, birds, and the sea as well, Those things worth remembering. This afternoon on the seaside is just lovely. A memories of me and baby girl alone on the seaside. It was such a lovely afternoon. A perfect place to relax and breath fresh air. Life has so many ups and downs, stress, and worries. All we need is some time at the beach to gain back our strength and inspirations.

An hour later, I asked Rianna if we can go home. Still, she does not want to stop throwing stones. When I asked if she was hungry she stopped and then grabbed my hand and said “mennä”, let’s go!. We just walked. We didn’t bring a stroller. It was fun at first passing by at the big houses. I was daydreaming for a little bit. Rianna was tired of walking and asked to be carried. It was far to walk home so I called hubby to pick us up. A few minutes later he arrived, and we went home.
