DIY: Butterfly Mobile (For The Playhouse)

The other day I made Butterfly Mobile for Rianna’s playhouse. After painting the playhouse white, I decided to add some decorations to it. The first thing I did is the butterfly mobile. I really like this project because it adds color to the playhouse. I like that when the wind blows the butterflies swinging and it looks really nice. As soon as Rianna saw it all she said was “WOW”. It makes me smile. At first, I was confused about whether I should paint the branch in white or just do nothing with it. When I asked hubby he said it’s nice when it’s natural which I happily agreed.

If you want a simple and more natural butterfly mobile you can make it on your own as well. I will share how I did it below! You can put this butterfly mobile on your baby’s nursery, toddler’s room, or in the playhouse.

DIY: Butterfly Mobile

You Will Need:

Colored Paper for butterfly cutouts (I used pink)
Scissors
Glue
White Sewing Thread
Small tree branch

What To Do:

1. Cut a few pieces of a paper butterfly. You can use a butterfly cutter if you have. I don’t have, so I just cut one butterfly first and then trace it on my colored paper and cut them.
2. Facedown your paper butterfly and put glue in the middle and each side.
3. Lie down the thread.
4. Cover it with another paper butterfly and press tightly so the glue will stick together and the thread will stick there as well.
5. Make as many hanging butterflies as you like. I used about 15-16 butterflies.
6. Tie those butterflies on your tree branch. The height should not be the same.
7. To hang your tree branch just simply use another thread. Tie the thread in both branch tips and knot at the top.
8. Hand your butterfly mobile on your baby’s nursery ceiling or whenever you want. I used this in my daughter’s playhouse.
