I noticed how messy baby girl’s hair lately. She won’t allow me to brush her hair. She won’t allow me to tie it, put a headband on it, or even put hair clips. However, there are times when she just let me do whatever I want. I wanted to put hair clips at least to make her look like a girl. She has long hair now and it looks better if she has some bow on her hair.
So, I decided to make more bow hair clips for her since I have these colorful ribbons. These are tiny hair clips and can hold tiny hair. More likely a baby hair clips. I could not find bigger clips so I used the small ones that I already have. Also, my ribbons are small so it’s just matched perfectly with the small hair clips.
Baby Hair Clips DIY:
You will need:
Ribbon
Hair clips
Thread and needle
Glue
Method:
1. Gather all your materials.
2. First twist the ribbon and make a loop like an awareness ribbon.
3. Do the same on the opposite side and also below. Make four loops like in the photo above steps #2.
4. Hand sews the middle of the bow about two to three times. Using the same thread roll it to the middle of the bow, pull tightly. Secure a knot.
5. Cut a 1-inch ribbon and make a knot in the middle.
6. Glue it around the middle of the bow to cover the thread. You have now a nice hair bow, and now put it on a hair clip.
7. You can either glue it to the hair clip or sew it. I hand sew them to make sure it won’t detach right away.
There are many hair bow tutorials online and everyone has a different method. I do hair bows this way and if you are confused with my instructions please check the step by step photo above.
