Happy Birthday My Love
Hubby’s birthday was on Saturday. While he was having fun attending the motor show (photos from last year’s motor show) event in Helsinki, my friend and I were busy preparing our lunch at her home. A week before when she said she cannot come to watch the motor show with us, an idea came out on my mind. I already had this idea even before, year before hubby’s big …0 birthday. I thought that a surprise birthday celebration would be fun and nice. So, I told my friend about it, and luckily she agreed. Our plan was we prepare the foods while hubby was at the motor show and when he come back to pick us up we will sing him a happy birthday.
We arrived at my friend’s house around 10:30 in the morning. It was so foggy and dark. Snowing so hard but not very cold. I ordered a cake from a friend, and was very excited to see hubby’s reaction to see the Harley designed cake. His hobby includes riding Harley motorcycle, and that’s something he really loves doing. He is a Harley bike freak! A Harley designed cake is perfect for him.
When hubby arrived, we were all ready. The table was set and we were as excited as we were. As I opened the door, he entered and we sang “Happy Birthday”. Of course he was surprised and I can see in his eyes how happy and shocked he was. He loved the cake, the food and everything. I am so grateful for my dear friend for helping me set this simple birthday surprise to the man of my life. It’s simple, but everything comes from the heart.
On Sunday afternoon, we had a formal yet simple birthday celebration at home. Our only visitors were hubby’s brothers and family. We prepared just cakes, cookies and coffee. It was nice to see his brothers again. We do not always see each other, and it was really nice to see them all together. Hubby was the youngest among five brothers. I love how they treated him so special and how lucky he is to have four wonderful and supporting brothers. Thank you guys for the gift!
There were so many leftovers. I do not know what I will do with those cakes. Man,,, I am on diet :)…. I already knew how Finns celebrate occasions. Coffee and cake are enough, but you know the instinct that I have. Something to add in the table. I bake few cupcakes and chocolate cake, and of course so many leftovers.
On the other hand, my Rianna girl knows what she wants. I grabbed few of her dresses to wear on Sunday. Each dress I showed to her she would say “ei” (no in English). She didn’t like them. I do not know why. Then, the last dress I showed her, it was cute with flowers printed on it, she grabbed it and smiled. I asked her, “do you like this dress?”. She smiled and nodded. Babies grow fast. It was like yesterday I gave birth to this little lady, now she already wants to choose what to wear.
Good news, somebody offers to watch Rianna when hubby and I have something important to do. Or if I will go to school in a few months. We really think that it is still very early to leave Rianna at day care center, so if someone can watch her while I go to school would just be perfect. It looks like hubby and I can watch the Backstreet Boys concert in March together, without baby girl. I really want that he come with me. That we will watch the concert together. I am so excited to watch my favorite boy band to sing live. I cannot wait to see Nick Carter in real.
Happy Birthday my love!
This post pretty much sum up our weekend and hub’s birthday. Additionally, we had so much snow lately. It’s time for snow sledding.
How was your weekend lovelies?
