Rianna’s Second Birthday
So our baby girl now a “big girl” is now two! Her birthday was on December 9, and we held a birthday celebration on December 8 in the afternoon. We kept it simple this year. We didn’t invite many people just like last year when she turned one. I only invited my Filipina friend and her husband. There wasn’t any party planned at all, it was just me who wanted to decorate and make the day something special and memorable.
So even though, I am not a good baker of any sort, I bake a few goodies such as chocolate mousse cake, cake pops, brownies, cupcakes, and of course her birthday cake. If you can see the birthday cake is really messy. I don’t know how to handle the fondant really well. I kept it simple with a red bow on it and some red stars on top. She was our shinny little star, so I used it as a theme. I need more practice in decorating food.
I will share more about the dessert table in part two of this post. I might share some DIY decorations as well. Blowing off the candles. My wish for her is to grow healthy, happy, and blessed. I love her very much! That day was very emotional for me because honestly, I cannot believe my baby girl is now two. Looking back at the day she was born where she arrived four weeks early and stayed at the hospital for a week really is unbelievable! We didn’t expect her early arrival with no nursery ready or hospital bag is packed. It was a total surprise.
She came to our world and made us so proud and happy. For me, she is heaven’s gift and a dream come true. The two years of my life having her was the most tiring, yet happiest moments of my life. It is not easy to raise a baby. It was very hard, time-consuming with a lack of sleep and rest, but all those sacrifices are being paid off and are very rewarding. She is a healthy and happy kid, and she is more than anything I could ask for.
We normally do not allow her to eat anything sweets like candies or cakes, but it was her birthday so we let her eat the cake and see if she will like it or not. Well, she ate one whole slice of cake, so for sure she loved the cake mama baked.
This little girl has no problem in terms of food. Since she turns one, she eats normal food. She eats all by herself and eats as much as she can. Something I am so proud of her. We do not allow her to eat any junk foods or drink soft drinks and we are trying to give her healthy food as much as we can. It is hard sometimes, you know I do not know what food to give her sometimes, but I do try my best to cook anything with vegetables.
Her birthday cake looks really messy. I can say I am a trying-hard mama. I wanted to make her own cake because she is special to me. Also, it was my second time to use the fondant to cover the cake. I need more practice, I supposed. I am not good at either baking or decorating a cake, but I am trying my best.
Just before our two visitors arrived, we took some family photos.
She opens her birthday presents after we ate desserts. She was very happy. She also opens another present on her real birthday, right after she woke up. She really likes toys we gave her.
… and of course a portrait photo of myself. It has been a while since I took whole body photos. I am now back to pre-pregnancy weight and looks a lot thinner in real, lol!
Years ago I had a neighbor Kum Chu in Illinois. She had a daughter named Cindy…Is that you?
