Wow I cannot believe it is December already. Time for holidays and fun. Time for loving and giving. I love Christmas so much! It’s my favorite time of the year. I love to see Christmas lights on the street sparkling and twinkling. I love the cold breeze at night, (when I was in the Philippines) and the snow outside here in Finland. White Christmas is the best. It reminds of the Christmas story movie. Do you know that Santa Claus lives in Finland? Well, I didn’t know until I got here. Hubby told me. Santa lives in Lapland, the northern part of Finland many many years ago. We just have to believe it to make the story short, okay? Whatever the story was, let’s get inspired by giving and loving. Christmas is about giving.
When I was a kid I always got excited when Christmas time comes. In school, we will always have Christmas program where we exchange gifts to our classmates. It was fun and exciting. Back home, Christmas is a big deal. We really take it seriously. Every Christmas each member of the family who lives far will come home to celebrate Christmas with the family. This is something that I miss so much! Now that I live in another country, I cannot always go home every time I want to. I am hopping though that someday our vacation will be in Christmas time so that hubby and my daughter can experience how we celebrate Christmas there. Here, is very different and I’m used to it already. They celebrate the advent here in a very simple way.
I miss the traditional Filipino foods we served during noche buena. I still want that we have noche buena here, and I will for sure cook some good food and enjoy our dinner together with my family. It’s one tradition that I want to keep forever.
Hello December! You make me so excited every day. I love Christmas. What about you?
